John Pantsil and Fatawu Dauda have retained their positions on the Black Stars’ technical team following a restructuring by the Ghana Football Association (GFA). The changes come after the team’s failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco later this year.
Pantsil, a former Black Stars defender, will continue as an assistant coach, while Dauda, a former international goalkeeper, remains as the team’s goalkeeping coach. Their retention reflects the GFA’s belief in their contributions to the national team’s progress.
As part of the reshuffle, Ghana U20 head coach Desmond Ofei has been appointed as an assistant coach, replacing German-Moroccan tactician Joseph Laumann, who has been dismissed. The GFA is hoping the new structure will provide fresh direction for the team as it prepares for future competitions.
Pantsil’s experience as a player and his growing reputation as a coach have been instrumental in improving the team’s defensive setup. Meanwhile, Dauda’s commitment to nurturing young talents within the goalkeeping department has earned widespread praise for his impact on the team.
Their roles will be critical as the Black Stars prepare for upcoming challenges, including the continuation of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in March, with matches against Chad and Madagascar.
