Chairman of Parliament’s Youth and Sports Committee and Member of Parliament for Ashiaman, Ernest Norgbey, has commended Sports Minister Kofi Adams for his effective leadership and contributions to Ghana’s sporting sector, describing him as a visionary and steady hand guiding national sports in a positive direction.
In an interview with GHOne TV’s Benjamin Yamoah, Norgbey expressed strong support for the minister, applauding his performance since taking office and crediting him with helping stabilize and reinvigorate sports development in the country—especially football.
“Kofi Adams is a very good brother and colleague. So far, so good. I know him to be somebody who is steadfast and also a forward-looking person. He has performed creditably,” Norgbey said.
The Ashiaman MP highlighted Adams’ influence in Ghana’s recent World Cup qualifying campaign, where the Black Stars earned emphatic victories over Chad and Madagascar in March—wins that boosted public morale after a challenging period for the national team.
“Kofi Adams played a major role in the Black Stars winning the two World Cup qualifiers [against Chad and Madagascar],” Norgbey noted, praising the minister’s behind-the-scenes efforts in rallying support and providing leadership.
He further expressed hope that Adams would continue in his current role, even if a ministerial reshuffle occurs.
“I hope and pray that if there will be a reshuffle in the future, Kofi should remain as the sports minister to be able to propel the sporting disciplines to another level,” he added.
Norgbey’s remarks reflect growing support for the sports minister’s leadership and a belief that his vision could extend beyond football to elevate all areas of Ghanaian sport.
