Prosper Narteh Ogum, the head coach of Asante Kotoko, has voiced his dissatisfaction with his team’s performance in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, deeming it unacceptable to have dropped half of their points, which amounts to nine, after six games.
As it stands, the Porcupine Warriors currently occupy the seventh position on the league table, having accumulated 9 points out of a possible 18, leaving them just one point behind the league leaders.
Ogum, who has previously experienced success in the Ghana Premier League, expressed his concerns and conveyed his desire for a more substantial points total at this stage of the season.
“I think as far as point accumulation is concerned, myself and the players, we are all not happy because if you look at the way we have played, we have given away half of the points, which should not happen,” Ogum stated during a press conference.
“If you look at the games we have played and the creativity we have shown in front of goal, we shouldn’t be having nine points after six games.”
Despite the points dropped, Asante Kotoko boasts a relatively strong record, with just one loss in the six league matches played so far. They have secured victories in two encounters and drawn three.
The Porcupine Warriors are currently preparing to face Bechem United at their home ground in the upcoming matchweek seven of the league.
