Former Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has revealed details surrounding his departure from the club, saying the decision came shortly after the end of the Ghana Premier League season.
According to Dramani, he received communication from the club’s Board of Directors a day after Hearts of Oak’s final league match, requesting his presence at a meeting and asking him to submit a technical report earlier than usual.
Speaking about the events leading to his dismissal, the experienced tactician explained that his team played on a Sunday and he received an email the following day inviting him to a meeting with the club’s hierarchy on Tuesday.
Dramani noted that under normal circumstances, he submits his technical report approximately two weeks after a match. However, he agreed to provide the report ahead of schedule before attending the meeting.
At the meeting, he said the Board expressed appreciation for his efforts and contributions to the club before informing him that Hearts of Oak had decided to pursue a new direction. As a result, the entire technical team under his leadership was dissolved.
Despite the decision, Dramani indicated that he accepted the club’s position professionally and harbours no bitterness over the outcome.
The former Hearts coach emphasized that managerial changes are part of football and insisted that he remains unfazed by the development. His calm reaction reflects his vast experience in the game, having worked with several clubs and national teams throughout his coaching career.
Dramani’s departure has sparked discussions among Hearts of Oak supporters, especially after the club finished third in the recently concluded Ghana Premier League season. While some fans believed more time should have been given to the technical team, the club’s leadership appears determined to chart a new course as it seeks greater success in the coming campaign.
With Hearts now expected to appoint a new head coach, attention will turn to who takes over the reins as the Phobians aim to challenge strongly for domestic honours next season.
