Maxwell Konadu made history at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Sunday when he became the first coach to lift the FA Cup for any team from the Bono Region.
He also became the second coach to win the trophy for the entire Bono-Ahafo Region after Bechem United won it on 4th September 2016 when Yaw Annor scored twice to beat Okwawu United 2-1 under Portuguese head coach Manuel Coelho Zacarias in Cape Coast.
Expectations at Nsoatreman ahead of the season, per Eric Alagedede, General Manager of the club, was to beat relegation and surprisingly, they finished fourth in the league.
The MTN FA Cup triumph has qualified Nsoatreman to the 2024-25 CAF Confederation Cup. It all happened because of Maxwell Konadu’s quality and proper leadership as the head coach.
The 51-year-old tactician has released a statement thanking the Nsoatreman Football Club, the Board, the playing body, the fans, the Nsoatre community and all Ghanaian journalists who he believes contributed to the success of the club in the just-ended season.
“I unequivocally extend my warmest appreciation to my benevolence Club Board. The omnipresent and the industrious management. My technical team members whom I call my eyes. The ever-passionate supporters and my precious players whose dedication and hard work are just absolutely parallel to none.
“You all contributed to creating an environment I call home, and hence the success chalked this season with a TOP 4 finish and being winners of the MTN FA CUP 24.
And to the able Ghanaian media, your analysis and criticisms were always a bedrock I will forever cherish.
“I hereby say Ayekoo to you all with much love and appreciation, see you next season,” Maxwell Konadu wrote.
