Tarkwa-based Medeama Sporting Club became the first team to prevent Ashantigold SC from scoring in the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League season in Obuasi.
The Never Give Up side succeeded in preventing the Elephants from banging in goals in Obuasi on Sunday afternoon during their week nine clash at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
The hosts before the match had scored in their previous four league games at home averaging 2.8 goals a game by scoring eleven goals at home this season.
Though this wasn’t the first time a team is picking up a point against the Yellow and Blacks in Obuasi but Medeama SC became the first club to shut the door at the Miners at their own backyard.
Despite a scoreless game between the two teams at the end of the match, the match was full of pace and entertaining to the max as both teams exhibited good football display on the day.
Medeama SC’s draw away at Ashantigold after beating Aduana Stars in their previous match means they have managed to go unbeaten in two games and have secured four points from two outings for the second time this season.
Medeama will return to the Tarkwa Akoon Park this weekend against Inter Allies whiles their previous opponent, Ashantigold SC travels to face Legon Cities FC in Accra.
