Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is expected to unveil his 26-man squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger early next month.
The Ghanaian national team has been out of action since June, following back-to-back wins over Mali and the Central African Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Now, the four-time African champions are set to regroup as they begin their quest to secure a spot in the next AFCON tournament, with the journey unfolding over the next three international windows.
Coach Addo’s squad selection is not anticipated to feature major surprises, as around 80% of the previous squad is likely to be retained. However, there are concerns over the availability of key players.
Young talents Ernest Nuamah and Forson Amankwah are doubtful due to injuries sustained over the weekend with their respective clubs. Additionally, captain Andre Ayew may be left out again as he remains without a club.
The squad announcement is expected to take place at noon on Thursday, August 29, and may be broadcast live on the GFA app.
The Black Stars will kick off their 2025 AFCON qualifying campaign against Angola on Thursday, September 5, followed by a clash with Niger four days later.
