Abdul Aziz Nurudeen, a midfielder for Hearts of Oak, has emphasized that not winning the domestic double, which includes both the league and the FA Cup, would be considered a major disappointment for the club.
The hardworking defensive midfielder believes that Hearts of Oak’s Bankroller and Board Chairman, Togbe Afede XIV, has made significant investments to position the club for success in every domestic competition.
He stated, “Our ultimate is to take the league trophy and the FA Cup, if we don’t take it, it’s a total failure,” Aziz Nurudeen told Africa-foot.com.
Aziz Nurudeen continued, “Because you can see the work that the Board Chairman has done, bringing new players, gave us the basic commodities that at least a player has to acquire”
“We are all in Kpobiman, we are living good, we are next to the training ground, any time you feel bored, there are other games there, you can go and play”
“So with all these and you don’t take the league or you don’t win it, it’s a total failure, it’s a disaster so that’s our target.”
He concluded by saying, “With all of these advantages and resources at our disposal, not winning the league would be a total failure and a disaster. That’s our target.”
Aziz Nurudeen’s performance earned him the “Man of the Match” award in the Phobians’ 1-0 victory over Nsoatreman in Week 2 of the BetPawa Premier League. He began his season with a second-half appearance in the 1-0 loss to Real Tamale United in Week 1 at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.
