Evelyn Badu, the talented forward of the Black Queens, has been honored with two prestigious accolades – the CAF Inter-Club Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards.
The 20-year-old player, who represents Avaldsnes IL, achieved this remarkable feat at the 2022 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards.
During a gathering of the Black Queens as they prepared for their first-round 2024 Olympic Games qualifying matches against Guinea, the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) proudly presented Evelyn Badu with these well-deserved awards.
In securing the coveted titles, Badu outshone her competitors, including former teammate Doris Boaduwaa and Morocco’s Yasmine Zouhir, who plays for AS St Etienne.
Her remarkable talent and outstanding performance were previously recognized when she was named the best player in the inaugural CAF Women’s Champions League, held in Egypt in 2021. Not only did she win the Golden Boot with her impressive tally of five goals, but she also led the Hasaacas Ladies to the final, crowning her the queen of the competition.
Overflowing with joy and gratitude, Badu expressed her excitement for receiving these prestigious awards on Twitter.
