Ghana coach Otto Addo has commended the attitude displayed by his players as the national team gears up for an international friendly against Uganda on Tuesday.
The Black Stars have been in camp in Marrakesh during the March international break as Addo seeks to strengthen the team for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers in June.
Reappointed earlier this month following a disappointing Africa Cup of Nations campaign in Ivory Coast, Addo aims to rejuvenate the team’s performance.
In light of the withdrawals of key players such as Thomas Partey, Inaki Williams, and Mohammed Kudus for the friendlies, Addo invited several new faces to the squad.
“I’m not really impressed, but maybe surprised a little bit. I didn’t expect this, especially with the young players performing at such a high level. It’s really, really good,” remarked Addo.
“I think we made a good choice in bringing them into the camp. We are already preparing for the future, and it’s really encouraging to see that the young players are knocking on the door to enter the national team.
“The players who have been with the team for a longer time need to be aware because the young guys are hungry, they are talented, and they are developing. Like I said, this is what will make us all better.”
Addo’s observations highlight the positive impact of integrating young talent into the squad, signaling a promising future for Ghana’s national team.
