Former Hearts of Oak winger Torric Jebrin has expressed regret over not adjusting his age earlier in his football career, calling it one of the biggest mistakes that affected his progress.
In an interview with Gil Media, Jebrin admitted that his current age has become a barrier in securing top-level opportunities, despite still feeling capable of performing at a high level.
“I’m still playing and I want to continue for the next two to three years,” he said. “Just that my age. I didn’t work on the age at the beginning. If I mention my age and you see me playing, you’d say, ‘No, no, I should be 22.'”
The winger disclosed he is 32 years old, but acknowledged that this is often viewed as too old for an African player looking to stay competitive in professional football.
“I didn’t get the support or management that could manage my things well,” he added, noting the lack of proper guidance during his early years as a contributing factor.
However, public records indicate that Jebrin was born on January 14, 1991, which would make him 34 years old.
Throughout his career, Jebrin has played for several clubs across different countries, including Turkish side Trabzonspor, DR Congo’s TP Mazembe, and Egyptian club Al Masry, among others.
