Ghanaian duo, Lawrence Ati Zigi and Kwadwo Duah suffered elimination from the Europa League qualifiers on Thursday to Greek side AEK Athens.
The Black Stars second choice goalkeeper was in post for St. Gallen in their 0-1 defeat at home to the Yellow and Blacks team from Greece.
In the 70th minutes of the match, a soft penalty was awarded against the Swiss Super League team after Nilson Oliveira stumbled in the goal area.
The 23-year-old Ghanaian international shot stopper saved the resulting penalty but could not prevent the Portuguese striker Oliveira from slotting home the game’s opener on the rebound.
Another 23-year-old Ghanaian, Kwadwo Duah played his part and was subbed off after 62 minutes of the match when the score was still goalless.
St. Gallen could not find their way back into the game as they lost at home to exit the 2020-21 UEFA Europa League competition.
