Abraham Boakye, known as One Man Supporter, boldly asserts that Dreams FC players possess the prowess to secure Ghana’s spot in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, surpassing the national team, the Black Stars.
As the president of Ghana Supporters Union, Boakye insists that Dreams FC, under the tutelage of their head coach, Karim Zito have showcased exceptional skills during their CAF Confederations Cup journey, particularly in their recent match against Zamalek, which ended in a draw.
Boakye argues on Angel FM that the Black Stars would struggle against Zamalek, unlike Dreams FC, indicating the latter’s readiness to represent Ghana at the highest level.
“Dreams FC can qualify Ghana for the 2026 World Cup. If they can compete against Zamalek, then they are good enough to represent Ghana. Black Stars can never draw against Zamalek but Dreams FC did it so they are more than good to play for the Black Stars.”
He praises Karim Zito, Dreams FC’s coach, advocating for his pivotal role in Ghanaian football. Boakye suggests deploying Dreams FC players for the national team if needed, highlighting their potential over professional players.
“We should praise Karim Zito and commend him for the incredible job he is doing. Karim Zito is integral to Ghana football and the success of our football depends on him. If it becomes necessary, let’s use Dreams FC and leave the professional players,” he said.
Ghana’s current standing in the qualifiers, third in Group I, prompts Boakye’s call for a change in strategy, as the Black Stars seek to improve their performance against upcoming opponents Mali and the Central African Republic in June 2024.
