Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has lauded the club’s fans as essential to its survival, emphasizing their crucial role in the team’s success.
Despite facing criticism from supporters during his tenure, the Ivorian trainer continues to urge Phobians to remain patient and supportive as they work to improve their performance.
“Every time, I tell them that the fans are the lifeblood of the club. We can’t live without blood. It’s not politics; it’s the truth we are telling them. When we compete in major tournaments, it’s for the fans,” Ouattara expressed in an interview with Hearts TV.
He added, “When we build the stadium, we build it for the fans. When I refer to ‘the wonderful fans,’ I believe normal criticism is acceptable. We appreciate good feedback, but I urge them not to resort to insults. Insults are not constructive.”
Currently, Hearts of Oak sits ninth on the league table with nine points, six points adrift of the top spot, having achieved two victories from their opening seven league matches.
While the Phobians are on a five-game unbeaten streak, they are struggling to convert draws into wins.
