Ghana coach Otto Addo has stressed the importance of discipline and caution as the Black Stars prepare for their doubleheader against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Having conceded two goals while managing to score just once in their first two matches, Addo recognizes the need for a more solid defensive performance against the Falcons.
“As a team, we must be disciplined and cautious against Sudan to avoid conceding,” the 45-year-old coach remarked. “The players understand the situation, but as a coach, my role is to teach them how to play well defensively, as we know how dangerous Sudan can be.”
The Black Stars will host Sudan on October 10 at the Accra Sports Stadium, followed by the return leg in Benina, Libya, on October 15. After a disappointing 1-0 loss to Angola and a 1-1 draw against Niger, Ghana is eager to secure two victories against Sudan to improve their chances of qualification for AFCON 2025.
In preparation for the crucial matches, the Black Stars are set to open camp on Monday in Accra.
