Former Asante Kotoko striker, Alex Asamoah says he has plans to return to the record Ghana Premier League tittle winners [24] to complete an “unfinished business” ahead of the 2017/2018 season.
He disclosed on Kumasi based Light FM that, he is available for Kotoko come back if the club’s CEO is willing to sign him.
Alex Asamoah joined Asante Kotoko in the 2008/09 season from Ashanti Gold with a record fee of GhS200,000 under the Chairmanship of Sylvester Owusu Asare (Now Bantemahene).
The enterprising striker is well known for his high rate in goal scoring which when signed would in a way solve Kotoko’ s profligacy, a situation which the teaming supporters have been lamenting on.
“Dr. Kwame Kyei called to inform me that my services will be needed in Kotoko and would want me to join the club again but fortunately or unfortunately I left for Lebanon “Said Alex Asamoah in an interview.
“The first round has ended that’s why I am in Ghana and I’ve scored 8 goals so far . I also have financial issues with my club hence the need to join any club that will show up in Ghana” he added
“I earlier on agreed with Dr. Kyei about his request for me to re-join Asante Kotoko and will be elated if it ends successfully “Asamoah indicated.
Asante Kotoko SC will massively be engaged next season as they represent Ghana in the 2018 CAF Confederations Cup,Ghana Premier League as well as defending the MTN FA Cup they won last year.
However, the club is preparing for GHALCA G8 preseason tournament against Techiman Eleven Wonders, a newly promoted club on Sunday January 7,2018 ,at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
