Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey has made a heartfelt plea to football fans in Ghana, urging them to fill the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against the Central African Republic.
The Arsenal player stressed the importance of home support in their quest for victory and to enhance their chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“I want to call on everyone to come to Kumasi as we play against Central African Republic. We need your support and I hope we will get it,” Partey expressed, underlining the significance of the upcoming match.
Ghana’s journey in Group I of the World Cup qualifiers has been a rollercoaster, with a win and a loss in their first two games. The Black Stars began their campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Madagascar in Kumasi but then suffered a 1-0 defeat against Comoros in Moroni.
In their latest match, Ghana showed their resilience by securing a 2-1 victory over Mali, with goals from Ernest Nuamah (58th minute) and Jordan Ayew (90+4 minute) at the Stade du 26 Mars. This win has reignited Ghana’s hopes of progressing in the tournament.
