According to reports from the English tabloid Athletic, West Ham United, a team in the English Premier League, is on the brink of finalizing a deal with Dutch Eredivisie powerhouse Ajax to secure the services of Kudus Mohammed before the conclusion of the summer transfer window.

The Premier League club has formally presented an offer amounting to €41 million, with an additional €3 million included as potential add-ons. This proposed deal encompasses a 10% sell-on clause.

It is widely anticipated that this proposal will receive acceptance from their Eredivisie counterparts. The framework for personal terms has been established, paving the way for the 23-year-old to sign a five-year contract, with the option of extending it for a sixth year.

Recent reports from The Athletic had previously revealed that West Ham’s initial bid for Kudus was rebuffed by Ajax. While the Ghanaian midfielder’s contract with Ajax extends until 2025, he declined a one-year extension offer in April.

During this summer’s transfer window, other clubs, including Chelsea, expressed their interest in Kudus. Additionally, Brighton & Hove Albion had reached a preliminary agreement to secure his signature earlier this month.

Kudus Mohammed is anticipated to make his final appearance for Ajax in the UEFA Europa League match against PFC Ludogorets Razgrad on Thursday. Notably, he was included in the Ajax squad that traveled to Bulgaria earlier today.

Having spent three seasons in Amsterdam, the Ghana international has accumulated 16 goals in 63 Eredivisie fixtures. Furthermore, he boasts a record of seven goals in 24 appearances for Ghana, including two goals in the 2022 World Cup held in Qatar.

While West Ham has already reinforced their midfield with acquisitions like Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse, they are actively seeking additional attacking resources ahead of the September 1 transfer deadline.
