Ghana international, Joseph Paintsil, has been named in the Major League Soccer Team of Week 28 after an impressive display for LA Galaxy.
The 26-year-old was on the scoresheet in LA Galaxy’s 3-2 victory over Portland Timbers, assisting and scoring crucial goals to help his side claim the top spot in the Western Conference.
Paintsil assisted former Barcelona midfielder Ruqui Puig with the opener before finding fellow Designated Player Gabriel Pec for his side’s second. He then netted the decisive goal on the hour mark, sending LA Galaxy to the top of the table.
Paintsil is joined by other talented players including former Barcelona defender Jordi Alba, Toronto’s Richie Laryea, and Iuri Tavares of Charlotte FC in the Team of the Week.
Other players making the squad are Daniel Gazdag of Philadelphia Union, Cole Bassett of Colorado Rapids, Atlanta’s Stian Gregersen, Griffin Dorsey of Houston, and goalkeeper Roman Burki as well as Dennis Bouanga of LAFC.
