Ghana international Antoine Semenyo played a key role in Bournemouth’s dominant 5-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup on Saturday.
Coming on as a substitute, Semenyo helped his team mount a thrilling comeback in the Round 3 clash at the Vitality Stadium, contributing both a goal and an assist.
The Black Stars forward replaced Max Aarons at halftime and immediately made an impact. West Brom took an early lead through Caleb Taylor in the 14th minute, but Bournemouth responded through Justin Kluivert to level the score.
Burkina Faso’s Dango Ouattara then scored a brace in the 34th and 44th minutes, giving Bournemouth a 3-1 advantage at the break.
Semenyo wasted no time after the restart, scoring just one minute into the second half to extend his team’s lead. He then assisted Daniel Jebbison, whose stoppage-time goal sealed the win for Bournemouth.
This match marked Semenyo’s first appearance in the FA Cup this season, where he has now recorded one goal and one assist in one game. Across all competitions, the 25-year-old has accumulated six goals and three assists from 21 matches.
