Ghanaian defender Sadick Abubakar made an instant impact for FK Radnik Surdulica, but his early goal wasn’t enough to stop Serbian giants Partizan Belgrade from claiming a 3-2 win in a thrilling Serbian Super Liga clash on Saturday.
Abubakar Gives Radnik Dream Start
Just five minutes in, Abubakar rose highest to head home a pinpoint cross from Mateja Gasic, marking his first league goal of the season and sending the home crowd into ecstasy.
Partizan Strike Back Quickly
The joy was short-lived. Three minutes later, Radnik were pegged back by an unfortunate own goal from Haris Hajdarevic, leveling the score. Senegalese striker Demba Seck then took over, scoring twice before halftime to hand Partizan a commanding 3-1 lead.
Radnik Rally Too Late
Radnik fought back when Gasic scored just before the break, reducing the deficit and reigniting hopes of a comeback. Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Quarshie came off the bench in the second half to boost Radnik’s attacking threat, but Partizan’s defense held firm, denying any chance of a late equalizer.
Abubakar’s Season in Numbers
Abubakar has featured in 19 league games, contributing 1 goal, and remains a cornerstone of Radnik’s defense despite the loss.
