Asante Kotoko have confirmed the payment of GH¢60,000 to former head coach Abdul Karim Zito following his resignation from the club.
The amount represents half of the agreed GH¢120,000 compensation package — equivalent to four months’ salary — after the club officially announced that Zito stepped down from his role.
Despite the payment, uncertainty remains over the outstanding GH¢60,000. Reports suggest the former coach is seeking clarification on when the balance will be settled.
Club sources indicate that the remaining amount will not be paid in a lump sum due to accounting constraints. Instead, Kotoko plans to clear the balance through instalments.
The issue comes at a challenging time for the Porcupine Warriors, who have experienced managerial changes and administrative adjustments in recent months. The compensation matter has since drawn heightened attention from supporters, many of whom are demanding transparency and clear communication from the club’s leadership.
