Black Stars goalkeeping coach Daniel Gaspar has cautioned against complacency ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, insisting that every opponent at the tournament must be taken seriously.
The Portuguese-American trainer stressed that there are no easy matches at this level and urged Ghana to focus on preparation rather than individual threats.
Speaking to Kooora, Gaspar explained that the technical team will prioritise collective planning over targeting specific players.
“In the World Cup, there are no easy opponents. The most dangerous players are those who combine intelligence, movement, composure, and lethal effectiveness. But my focus is always on our preparations rather than fearing any particular player,” he said.
Gaspar is part of Ghana’s newly assembled technical team for the 2026 World Cup, working under head coach Carlos Queiroz, who replaced Otto Addo.
He noted that the key to success will be discipline, organisation, and respect for all opposition teams in the group stage.
At the tournament, Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia as they prepare for their fifth World Cup appearance.
