Reigning Ghana Premier League champions Bibiani GoldStars have officially appointed Petros Koukouras as their new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 37-year-old Greek tactician takes over from Fritz Markus Schmid, who left the club earlier this month after guiding the Miners during the second half of their title-winning 2025/26 campaign.
Koukouras arrives with a wealth of coaching experience across Africa, having managed Uganda’s Pacific Heroes FC, served as assistant coach of the South Sudan national team, and later led Ugandan giants SC Villa Jogoo. He also enjoyed a stint with Rwandan side Kiyovu Sports, where he further enhanced his reputation as a progressive young coach.
A UEFA A Licence holder, Koukouras is widely regarded for his tactical discipline, modern coaching philosophy and commitment to youth development.
GoldStars believe his international experience and technical expertise will help build on the club’s recent success as they prepare to defend their Ghana Premier League title and compete strongly in the upcoming season.
