Sion Oppong, a Swedish forward of Ghanaian descent, has completed a major move to French Ligue 1 side Toulouse Football Club, signing a contract that will keep him at the club until 2030.
The 18-year-old attacker joins Toulouse from Swedish club IF Brommapojkarna, where he developed through the youth system and gradually progressed into senior football.
Oppong, who was born on September 25, 2007, in Sweden, is regarded as a promising young attacker whose pace, technical ability and versatility have attracted the attention of clubs outside Sweden.
Although primarily a left winger, Oppong is also capable of operating as a centre-forward, giving Toulouse additional options in attack as the club prepares for the demands of the French top flight.
His transfer to Toulouse represents an important step in his young career and gives him the opportunity to continue his development in one of Europe’s highly competitive leagues.
Developed at IF Brommapojkarna
Oppong spent his entire youth development at IF Brommapojkarna, a Stockholm-based club widely recognised for producing talented footballers.
The Swedish club’s academy has developed several notable players who have gone on to establish themselves at the highest levels of European football, including Viktor Gyökeres, Dejan Kulusevski, Lucas Bergvall and John Guidetti.
Oppong followed a similar pathway through the academy before making his senior debut for Brommapojkarna.
He made his first-team debut on February 23, 2025, when he came on as a substitute during a 3-0 Swedish Cup victory over Örgryte IS.
That appearance marked the beginning of his transition into senior football and the next stage of his development.
