AFC Wimbledon Women have confirmed the signing of Ghanaian international Freda Ayisi ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The prolific striker most recently played for promotion winners Watford. She began her footballing journey at Arsenal, where she scored a goal in the Champions League.
Following her stint at Arsenal, she gained valuable experience across clubs in the WSL 2/Championship, and represented Birmingham City in the 2017 FA Cup Final at Wembley. She made her international debut with Ghana in 2025.
Manager Sabiha Jamal said “We’re delighted to welcome Freda to AFC Wimbledon. She’s a proven goalscorer with a wealth of experience at the highest level of the women’s game, and her quality speaks for itself. Beyond what she’ll bring on the pitch, her professionalism and winning mentality will be invaluable to our squad. We’re excited to see the impact she’ll have this season.”
Ayisi said she’s happy to be at AFC Wimbledon – and we’re equally happy!
