Ghana international Majeed Ashimeru is officially a free agent after mutually parting ways with Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht, bringing an end to his five-year association with the club.
The 28-year-old midfielder leaves Anderlecht after returning from a loan spell at La Louvière, where he spent the second half of the 2025/26 campaign. Despite rejoining the club ahead of the new season, Ashimeru did not feature in the opening weeks of the 2026/27 Belgian Pro League or in UEFA Europa League qualifying.
Ashimeru initially joined Anderlecht on loan from RB Salzburg in January 2021 before making the move permanent later that year in a deal worth €1.5 million.
Before his move to Belgium, the Accra-born midfielder enjoyed a successful spell with Salzburg, winning back-to-back Austrian Bundesliga and Austrian Cup doubles while also gaining valuable experience on loan at Austria Lustenau, Wolfsberger AC, and St. Gallen.
A product of the renowned WAFA Academy, Ashimeru has represented Ghana at senior international level and remains highly regarded for his composure, passing range and energy in midfield.
With a current market value of €500,000, the former Black Stars midfielder is now expected to attract interest from clubs across Europe and beyond as he begins the search for the next chapter of his career.
