Bechem United defeated Obuasi Ashantigold SC to open a three points lead at the top of the Ghana Premier League after week six.
The Hunters won their outstanding game against the Obuasi lads with a 1-0 score line to stretch their unbeaten run to six games in the 2020-21 Ghanaian top-flight campaign.
The first half of the match ended in a 0 – 0 stalemate with the hosts creating most of the good goal scoring opportunities but were denied a goal through the exploits of the visitor’s goalkeeper.
Nine minutes into the second half, Steven Owusu netted the opener on the 54th minute and his strike was enough to hand the home team all three points at stake.
Ashantigold SC’s unbeaten run finally came to an end after their narrow away defeat to Bechem United who remains flawless this season with four wins and two draws as they sit top of the league with 14 points from six matches.
On the other hand, the Miners boast of two wins, three draws before their defeat to the league leaders and lies on fifth position with nine points from six games.
