Ghanaian top-flight side Medeama SC midfielder, Rashid Nortey was picked as Man-Of-The-Match in his team’s 1-1 draw at home to Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC.
The diminutive midfielder was the brightest spot for the struggling home team throughout the match as his side secured a 1-1 draw at home from a goal down.
Rashid Nortey dominated the middle of the pitch for the Tarkwa team for the most part of the match and was deservedly awarded the Man-Of-The-Match award at the end of game.
The Mauves and Yellows went into the game without a win at home this season after drawing their opening two home matches against Accra teams, Great Olympics and Liberty Professionals respectively.
Medeama were the better side in the first 45 minutes of the game but could not utilize their dominance into goals as the first half ended goalless.
After the break, the Porcupines scored ten minutes into the second half but the goal was correctly ruled for an offside against the Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku.
Sixteen minutes to full, captain, Emmanuel Gyamfi beautifully lobbed a through pass over the top to locate striker Kwame Opoku to score the opening goal of game to put the visitors 1-0 up with half an hour left on the clock.
On the 89th minute with little time left on the clock, Medeama were awarded a spot kick which was expertly converted by Abass Mohammed to restore parity for the hosts.
The match finished one all with Medeama still stuck at the bottom end of the league log after six games.
