Ghanaian striker Benjamin Tetteh ended the 2025/26 Slovenian PrvaLiga season on a high note after scoring and providing an assist in NK Maribor’s emphatic 3-0 win over NK Aluminij on the final day of the campaign.
The 28-year-old forward capped off an impressive season by finishing as the league’s joint top scorer. His strike against Aluminij was his 12th league goal of the season.
Tetteh started from the bench but made an immediate impact after coming on with 30 minutes remaining. Moments after his introduction, he set up Maribor’s second goal for Tai Primic with a well-timed assist.
The Ghanaian attacker later added his name to the scoresheet with just two minutes left to play, sealing an impressive victory for his side. Earlier in the game, Ali Reghba had opened the scoring for Maribor in the seventh minute.
Despite ending the season strongly, Maribor endured a disappointing league campaign and eventually finished fifth in the standings.
In addition to his 12 goals, Tetteh also contributed eight assists throughout the season, underlining his importance to the team’s attacking setup. He will share the league’s Golden Boot award with Nikita Iosifov of NK Celje.
The former Ghana U-20 striker will now turn his attention to the national team, as he awaits a possible call-up from Ghana coach Carlos Queiroz for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
