Looking forward to representing Ghana at the Olympics, Black Queens midfielder Freda Ayisi emphasizes the opportunity to elevate Ghanaian football on the global stage.
In a pre-match media interaction ahead of the Olympic Games third round second leg qualifier against Zambia, Ayisi expressed her excitement at the prospect of competing in Paris.
“It will be amazing for the team to go for the Olympics because it’s a big opportunity to show the world that Ghana can play football and also put us on the map again,” remarked the Charlton Athletic midfielder.
Addressing the team’s performance and mindset, Ayisi dismissed complacency as a factor in their loss in Accra, affirming the team’s focus and determination.
Responding to inquiries about adapting to the team’s style of play, the England-based player emphasized the importance of hard work and dedication in training.
“I’m adapting and I feel like I am doing well, especially in training. That is the best way to adapt, just train and work hard with the girls and hope I will be on the same level so we can play football together consistently,” Ayisi stated.
The much-anticipated qualifier between Zambia and Ghana is slated for Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the Levy Mwanawasa Sports Stadium in Ndola.
