Birmingham City FC head coach Chris Davies has expressed optimism over the condition of Ibrahim Osman after the winger was forced off during their midweek clash with Preston North End.
Osman had to be substituted in the 38th minute of Birmingham’s 2-1 victory after suffering a head injury while contesting for an aerial ball.
The Ghana international, currently on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, had earlier made a huge impact on the game, registering both a goal and an assist before his early exit. He was replaced by Demarai Gray.
Speaking after the match, Davies explained that the injury occurred when Osman bravely challenged for a header—an effort he praised as a sign of commitment. The manager admitted the full extent of the injury is still unclear but remains hopeful the forward will recover quickly.
Osman’s availability is now a concern ahead of Birmingham’s upcoming fixture against Bristol City this weekend.
Since arriving in January, the winger has been an important attacking option for the Blues, contributing two goals and two assists in 16 appearances. He is expected to return to Brighton at the end of the season when his loan spell concludes.
