Ghana winger Christian Atsu will work under a new coach at Newcastle United following the appointment of seasoned coach Steve Bruce who replaces Rafael Benitez.
The English Premiership side on Wednesday morning confirmed the appointment of Steve Bruce as their new manager on a three-year contract.
A statement on the club’s website, noted: “Newcastle United have confirmed the appointment of Steve Bruce as their new manager on a three-year contract.
Bruce and his staff are set to travel to China and will meet the squad following Wednesday’s Premier League Asia Trophy clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Nonetheless, Atsu was left out of the team list of Newcastle United’s pre-season tour in Asia because of his international duty with Black Stars at the 2019 Afcon tournament in Egypt.
Atsu, 27,-year sustained an while playing against Cameroon at the Nations Cup and had to leave the Black Stars camp early to seek medical attention.
He made 27 appearances for Newcastle United and scored one goal last season in the English Premier League under sacked Rafael Benitez.
