Medeama head coach Samuel Boadu has settled the debate of who the best player in the suspended 2019/20 Ghana Premier Leagye is between Aduana Stars striker Yaya Mohammed, Victorien Adebayor of Inter Allies and Medeama’s goal machine Prince Opoku Agyemang.
According to the Ghana’s male U-15 trainer, striker Prince Opoku Agyemang of Medeama’s fame remains the best player currently in the Ghanaian domestic league.
Opoku-Agyemang, 28, has been in top form for the Takwa-based club, scoring 8 goals in 11 matches.
Though the former New Edubiase United striker’s name has never come into the debate of the best players in Ghana, Boadu indicated why he thinks his striker is the best player ahead of ace striker Yahaya Mohammed and Nigerien striker Victorien Adebayor.
“I will say our striker Prince Opoku Agyemang is the best player in the GPL, the reason is I took him from Division One side (New Edubiase) and he has been very clever with the way he has adapted to the Premier League in his first season”- Boadu told Wontumi Radio/TV.
“And aside him being a goals scorer, he also holds the ball and dribbles well too.
“Someone will argue with Victorien Adebayor BUT he has been consistent in the league in almost 2 to 3 years so for ‘Abedi’ Prince to compete with Adebayor and Yahaya Mohammed for goal king then I believe he’s a great player and deserves the best player in the Ghana league accolade.”
