Ghanaian forward Ebenezer Assifuah was instrumental for Pau FC in their comfortable first away victory in the French Ligue 2 over Châteauroux on Saturday.
Due to the stellar display by the Ghana International, Assifuah was named Man-Of-The-Match after scoring twice and setting up another in his team’s 3-0 mauling of Châteauroux.
The former Liberty Professionals hitman opened the scoring in the first half with a pile driver from outside the box into the bottom left corner on the ninth minute.
Three minutes after the hour mark, the Ghanaian surplied a beautiful pass to teammate, Romain Armand who set him up for the opener to add the second goal to put the visitors 2-0 with 12 minutes left on the clock before the end of the opening 45 minutes.
Assifuah scored again six minutes from half time, this time from a very close range following a cross from Armand from a corner kick to put the away team 3-0 up.
The first half ended 3-0 to Pau and that was enough to help the newly promoted team to secure their first away win this campaign in the French Ligue 2.
The 27-year-old striker, Assifuah has three goals in nine matches together with one assist in the French second tier.
