Former Ghana defender Dan Quaye ha has said that former Asante Kotoko midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu retired from the country’s senior National team with pain.
The 30-year-old after a three-year absence from the Black Stars took a decision officially call it a quit-on January 31, 2020 and focus on his club career.
Speaking in an interview with Koforidua-based Aben FM, Dan Quaye stated that players including Agyemang Badu quit the national team with pain.
“Agyemang Badu retired from the national team because of how things are done. He retired out of pain. Playing for your national team helps improve your value but Badu was neglected at some point in time, so his decision to quit the national team is in order”
“It is good that he is focusing on club football to make money for the future” said the 2006 FIFA World Cup squad member.
Badu, a former Udinese star, played 78 times for the Black Stars.
