Medeama SC ended their two-game losing streak with a crucial 2-0 win over Aduana FC at the TnA Stadium in Tarkwa on Sunday afternoon.
This victory comes as a significant boost for the former Ghana Premier League champions, who are determined to climb up the standings.
The match remained evenly contested in the first half, with both teams struggling to break the deadlock. However, Medeama found their breakthrough in the 55th minute when Michael Sarpong was fouled inside the penalty box. Defender Zakaria Mumuni Mubarik stepped up to take the spot-kick and confidently converted, giving the hosts a well-deserved lead.
Despite Aduana FC’s efforts to find an equalizer, their attacking moves lacked precision. Medeama’s defensive unit remained resolute, frustrating the visitors, who have faced inconsistency throughout the season.
The home side sealed their victory in the 75th minute when Sarpong capped off his fine performance with a well-placed low header, doubling Medeama’s advantage. The goal secured all three points, delighting the home supporters.
With this result, Medeama climbed to seventh place on the league table, while Aduana FC slipped to 12th. Both teams will now turn their attention to their upcoming fixtures as they seek to improve their standings.
