Ghanaian youngster Henry Addo thanked his teammates for assisting him in scoring a brace in MSK Zilina’s 3-1 win over Ruomberok in Slovakian Superliga.
Addo started the game and played for 81 minutes. Jan Minarik claimed his spot in the second half at the Pod Dubnom.
“Without my teammates, I wouldn’t have been able to score, so credit and thanks go to them too. I haven’t played from the start for a long time and I haven’t scored a goal in a long time, but I worked on myself and it paid off today,” he said after the game.
“I concentrated in the key moments to score a goal and helped the team. I also enjoyed the chants of the fans, it was exciting when they shouted my name. We wanted to think positive before the game, forget about Thursday and only think about today. Before Thursday, it is an important triumph in terms of confidence.”
MSK Zilina took the lead in the first half after a solo goal by Henry Addo in the 38th minute.
Although Rua equalised after coming out of the locker room through Kristof Domonkos, the Shoshone came to life thanks to the replacements, and Henry Addo decided the victory of the yellow and green with his second accurate shot. Patrik Ilko assisted Henry Addo’s second goal.
Mário Sauer secured MSK Zilina’s first victory of the new season in the end. The Yellow and Green will now focus on their Uefa Europa Conference League match against Gent on August 3rd.
