FC Twente has reached an agreement with PSV regarding the transfer of Ghanaian youngster Jordy Bawuah. The 19-year-old Belgian midfielder joins from the Eindhoven club with immediate effect and signed a contract this afternoon at De Grolsch Veste for three seasons until mid-2029, with an option for a further year.
Erik ten Hag: “Jordy Bawuah is a talented strategic midfielder who is technically skilled. Defensively, he also possesses the qualities required for his position. He has had a good education and has already played many matches in professional football at his young age. He has the potential to develop further with us and to play a role for our team very soon.”
“I really enjoyed watching the match last Thursday; it is great that FC Twente is playing in Europe.” Bawuah said.
He added that: “I see this as a very nice next step for my career. I am really looking forward to playing here, at a beautiful big club in a beautiful stadium. At FC Twente, I want to take the next step and I hope to get as many minutes as possible this season, not only in the Eredivisie, but also in European matches. I watched the match with great pleasure last Thursday; it is very nice that FC Twente is playing in Europe.”
About Jordy Bawuah
Jordy Bawuah (17 November 2006) played for KRC Genk until 2018 and moved to the PSV youth academy at a young age.
Bawuah progressed through the entire PSV youth system and made his debut for Jong PSV in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie in September 2023 at the age of sixteen.
The midfielder played sixty matches for Jong PSV and scored three times. In April of this year, Bawuah made his Eredivisie debut during the home match against PEC Zwolle.
Bawuah has played ten international matches for Belgium Under-19
