Promising defender Caleb Kporha has officially signed a new long-term contract with Crystal Palace, extending his stay at the South London club until 2029, as first reported by GHANAsoccernet.com.

The 18-year-old, who was born in England and is of Ghanaian descent, has been a standout talent since joining the club’s academy at the Under-16 level in 2021. He first captured public attention through his appearance in Channel 4’s documentary series Football Dreams: The Academy.

Kporha’s journey through the youth system has been defined by resilience and growth. During the 2022/23 season, he earned a scholarship and featured in 22 matches across the U18 and U21 sides, scoring three goals. His performances were rewarded with his first professional contract.

Although a setback came early in the 2023/24 season when he suffered an injury that kept him out for a significant period, Kporha bounced back strongly. He joined Oliver Glasner’s senior squad for their pre-season tour in the United States, showing his determination to return better than ever.

In the 2024/25 campaign, Kporha impressed with the U21s under Darren Powell, contributing one goal and three assists in just five matches. His form earned him a place on the first-team bench and a senior debut in November against Fulham. Not long after, he made his first start in the Carabao Cup quarter-final clash against Arsenal.

Following the signing of his new deal, Kporha expressed his joy and gratitude:
“I’m feeling really proud,” he said.
“This season has been good for me, from pre-season on tour with the first team – I enjoyed it and got a good few minutes out there…”
“The coach and the team are so welcoming and they’re always there for you, so I feel like I’ve got a lot to learn from the manager and I feel like there’s a lot to come in the future.”

Kporha’s rise hasn’t gone unnoticed on the international stage either, as he recently made his debut for England’s Under-19 national team, further cementing his reputation as one to watch.
