King Faisal Football Club became the third side to score three goals against West Africa Football Academy since the club was re-created in 2015 following a merger between Red Bull Ghana and Feyenoord Gomoa Fetteh academy.

Sekondi Hasaacas won 3-1 over WAFA on 29 March 2015 in the Ghana Premier League as Ibrahim Suleman, Daniel Egyir and Frederick Quayson scored for the Western Show Boys and Zakaria Mumuni grabbed a consolation goal.

In the 2016 season, Medeama won a 5-goal thriller against the Sogakope side in Tarkwa as the home side won the game by 3-2.

King Faisal had added onto that small list after losing 4-3 at WAFA on opening day of the season. Striker Kwame Peprah scored a brace for Faisal but Daniel Lomotey – who also scored a brace – and his teammates were a step above the visitors.

“We are sorry for what happened today. We lost concentration at the beginning of the second half and it cost us”- King Faisal captain Mutawakilu Fusseni said after the game.
