Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has brushed off criticisms labeling his squad as weak, reiterating his focus on consistency and accumulating maximum points.
Following the team’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over Legon Cities FC in the Ghana Premier League, Ouattara addressed the remarks during an interview with AFA Sports.
“Some say we have a weak team, but we’re competing. Every match presents a challenge for Hearts of Oak. Right now, our focus is on securing maximum points from each game,” said Ouattara.
The coach admitted that his side faced difficulties, particularly in the first half, but commended their resilience.
“It’s normal to lose the 50/50 balls. When the other team fights, you must fight too, but we didn’t fight enough in the first half. Fortunately, we capitalized on a chance to score,” he explained.
The victory sees Hearts of Oak climb to second place in the league standings, bolstering their quest for the Ghana Premier League title.
