Legon Cities FC assistant coach Saeed Adnan has admitted that the team’s attacking inefficiencies are a major reason for their struggles in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League.
Speaking after their narrow 1-0 loss to Hearts of Oak on Friday, January 3, Adnan expressed disappointment, despite a spirited performance from his players.
“It’s unfortunate we’ve lost to Hearts of Oak by a lone goal. If you analyze the goal, it wasn’t from a clear chance they created. From the start, you could see the chemistry among our players, their possession, and their determination to win. Sadly, we couldn’t capitalize on the chances we created,” Adnan said.
He emphasized that the team’s struggles stem from poor execution in the final third.
“Our main issue is the technical execution in the attacking third. That’s what we’re lacking, and it’s hurting the team,” he added.
The defeat leaves Legon Cities rooted to the bottom of the league table after 16 matches.
With new head coach Yaw Acheampong at the helm, the coaching staff faces the daunting task of improving the team’s attacking play as they battle to climb out of the relegation zone.
