Accra Hearts of Oak are reportedly in discussions with two unnamed coaches as possible successors to head coach Aboubakar Ouattara, whose recent run of form has left the club’s leadership dissatisfied.
The Phobians have endured a turbulent spell in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season, managing just one win in their last five matches. During this stretch, they’ve suffered three defeats and drawn once—raising concerns about the team’s consistency as the season nears its end.
After 28 games played, Hearts of Oak sit in sixth place on the league table with 42 points, a position that falls short of the club’s expectations given its rich history and competitive ambition.
According to a report by Kessben FM, the club’s hierarchy is not pleased with Ouattara’s recent performance and is actively seeking alternatives. The report further indicates that two coaches have already been contacted, though their identities are being kept confidential for now.
“Hearts of Oak already engaged two coaches, whose names are withheld as possible replacements for Ouattara,” the report stated.
The club faces a crucial fixture next, as they prepare to lock horns with arch-rivals Asante Kotoko on May 2, 2025. The venue for the highly anticipated clash is yet to be confirmed.
With just six matches remaining in the 2024/25 season, the Rainbow Club is hoping to reverse its fortunes and finish the campaign on a strong note.
