Hearts of Oak has announced a change in venue for their home matches in the upcoming second round of the Ghana Premier League season, opting to relocate to the WAFA Park in Sogakope.
The decision comes after a brief stint at the Kumasi Baba Yara Stadium towards the end of the first round, necessitated by the unavailability of their usual home ground, the Accra Sports Stadium, back in December.
With the Accra Sports Stadium slated for use in March for the 13th African Games, Hearts of Oak has chosen the WAFA Park in Sogakope as their temporary home ground until further notice. The move is aimed at ensuring continuity in their fixtures amidst venue constraints.
As the second round kicks off on February 25, Hearts of Oak, now under the guidance of new coach Aboubakar Ouattara, will seek to bolster their performance and climb up the league standings.
Currently positioned 11th on the table, the team remains optimistic about their league aspirations despite an 11-point gap from the top spot. Their upcoming match against Real Tamale United at the new home ground marks the beginning of their endeavor to ascend the rankings.
With their elimination from the Ghanaian FA Cup, Hearts of Oak now shift their focus solely to the league as they aim to contend for silverware. Consistency will be paramount as they strive to turn their season around and mount a title challenge.
