Hearts of Oak, the Ghanaian club, has been directed by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) to pay 50,000 US dollars to Serbian coach Slavko Matic due to a breach of contract, as reported by Ghanasportspage.com.
Matic lodged a formal complaint with FIFA, citing unfair treatment that ultimately led to his departure from the club during the previous season.
The 46-year-old claimed that he was forced to distance himself from the team after being expelled from training following their 1-0 loss to Great Olympics.
Following his official complaint, FIFA advised Matic to keep his distance from the club before he left Ghana.
In response to the situation, FIFA has ordered Accra Hearts of Oak to make a substantial payment of 50,000 US dollars (equivalent to 568,425.00 cedis) within 31 days to avoid facing further consequences.
Following his appointment as the head coach of Hearts of Oak, Matic, who took over from Samuel Boadu, faced a troubling incident when he was attacked and barred from conducting training sessions ahead of their match against Asante Kotoko.
Despite this setback, he managed to oversee 16 games in the Ghanaian league during his tenure as head coach since his arrival in Ghana.
