The Humanitarian Alarm Charity, over the weekend, held their maiden soccer clinic in Kumasi dubbed ”First Touch Matters” at the Hill Top School Astro Turf pitch.
The Charity Humanitarian Alarm, organizers of the Annual South Dayi Inter-community Football Gala, opted to hold the maiden Soccer Clinic in the Garden city with the sole aim of unearthing young talents in the country.
The well-organised tournament, had the participation of schools like New Mission Academy, International Community School, Lutheran School, Enas Hybrid, Frobel Educational Complex, Nagies Angels Academy and Opoku Ware School.
In its true nature, nationalities of the participants included Ukrainians, Germans, Ghanaians, Indians, and Syrians.
Organizers of the tournament, Humanitarian Alarm, thanked management of the schools who participated in the competition for making the first ever soccer clinic in the Ashanti region a success.
Addressing the participants, Mr Elom Ohene, the Executive Director of Humanitarian Alarm encouraged the lads to keep upholding the tents of good sportsmanship and stay away from elicit drugs which is capable of destroying their bright future.
He also encouraged parents and educational institutions in and around Kumasi to enroll their wards in the next phase of our program.
Humanitarian Alarm, is a registered non- profit charity whose prime aim is to roll out innovative interventions aimed at bridging the poverty gaps in marginalised and deprived communities across the country.
Facilitators of the Soccer Clinic included Coach John Welbeck who is an ex- Ghana international and a scout for South African side Ajax Cape Town.
Welbeck, currently is a member of the Ghana U15 current technical team.
