West Ham United forward Mohammed Kudus has expressed his determination to maintain his goal-scoring form after netting in the Hammers’ 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday at the London Stadium.
The 24-year-old Ghanaian international played a crucial role in securing a point for his side in the Premier League encounter. Brighton took the lead shortly after halftime when Mats Wieffer scored his first goal for the club. Pervis Estupiñán’s high cross into the box was only partially cleared by Lukasz Fabianski, allowing the Dutch midfielder to fire home from close range.
West Ham responded seven minutes later through Kudus. Jarrod Bowen skillfully dribbled his way forward and unleashed a shot that Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen managed to parry. Kudus was in the right place at the right time to head the rebound into the net, leveling the score.
Speaking after the game, Kudus shared his excitement about the goal and emphasized his commitment to improving his game.
“It was good to score, and the goal came from where I’m most natural, on the right,” he told the club’s official website. “It’s all about the team though, and I’ll keep learning and improving to adapt to wherever I’m asked to play.”
Looking ahead to West Ham’s next fixture against Southampton at St. Mary’s, Kudus expressed hope of continuing his goal-scoring streak.
“We’ll go again in a few days’ time, and hopefully I can score again and help the team,” he added.
Kudus has now scored three goals in the ongoing Premier League season and is eager to contribute more as the campaign progresses.
