Karela United’s goalie, Ganiu Abdul, played amazingly, helping his team win 1-0 against Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League at the Naa Sheriga Sports Center.
Abdul was the star of the match, making fantastic saves to stop Kotoko from scoring and keeping Karela’s slim lead safe.
Before the game, Karela United was in 15th place with 20 points, while Asante Kotoko was in second place with 32 points. But the match showed that rankings don’t always determine who wins.
The only goal came in the 63rd minute, scored by Karela United’s striker, Giyasu Ibrahim. His goal earned three points for Karela United, making their fans very happy.
As the game neared the 70th minute, both teams made changes. Karela United adjusted their defense to protect their lead, while Asante Kotoko brought in fresh players to attack.
Even though Asante Kotoko tried hard to score in the last minutes, Karela United held on. They defended well and kept their lead until the final whistle blew.
