Asante Kotoko management member, Nana Kwame Danquah has refuted claims suggesting Christopher Damenya does not belong to any circle of the club.
Christopher Damenya is contesting for the National Circles Council (NCC) Chairmanship of Asante Kotoko and has been accused of not belonging to any circle ahead of the elections.
The business mogul, despite successfully passing vetting, has seen his opponent raise question mark on his eligibility insisting he is not a recognized member of any of the circles hence unfit to contest for the top seat.
However, in a sharp response to the allegations, campaign team member of Christopher Damenya, Nana Kwame Danquah has charged the fans of the club to treat the allegations with contempt and remain focus.
He says the allegations raised are only meant to undermine the competency of the vetting committee.
“it’s a big indictment on the Vetting Committee to say Christopher Damenya does not belong to any Circle” He told Zuria FM in Kumasi.
“Those who did the vetting are people with a high repute, so are you saying they don’t know what they are doing.
“The lies will not help them. I Don’t know why they are peddling all this lies. What we know is come 16th of November, there will be a contest.
“At the right time we published all the necessary documents about his involvement in the Circle. Then we will see if this lies will stand”
Former Communication Officer of the Club Solomon Ofosu Ware is the other candidate seeking to succeed Chairman K5 as the new Asante Kotoko National Circle’s chairman.
The National Circle Council Election has been scheduled to come off on November 16, 2019.
